Font Squirrel Design Exploration

Font Squirrel is a renowned type foundry offering a vast collection of high-quality, free fonts for web and media use. In this project, I focused on enhancing the website's visual design to create a more user-friendly and visually appealing experience.

The Problem

Font Squirrel’s current website makes it quite difficult to digest it's content. Making it hard for users like myself to discover new fonts.

The Goal

The goal was to make Font Squirrel’s extensive font catalog easier to navigate while highlighting its diverse selection in a more engaging way.

For the site redesign, my goal was to bring the fonts to the forefront of the design. I chose an editorial approach, a style I was eager to experiment with. By minimizing the clutter from the original design, I allowed the fonts to take center stage, showcasing their unique characteristics and nuances. This not only enhanced the visual appeal but also created a more enjoyable and seamless browsing experience for designers searching for new fonts or simply exploring the catalog.
